Original Victorian Galloper Horse Dated 1897. ‘Pat’.

WHAT WE KNOW

From Carl Burge’s personal collection. Extremely rare wooden Frederick Savage fairground horse dated 1897. Originally located on the middle row of a set of 3-abreast ‘Gallopers’. Other information about ‘Pat’ is that she is a Galloper off Jacko Beeches roundabout and that the original Gallopers set were new to Henry Knight of Hinckley, Leicestershire in 1897. Centre engine No.687, organ engine No.691- a colonial set. Sold to John Beach of Sudbury in 1905. Last decorated by Jimmy Williams of Tadley in the 1970’s although numerous layers of original paint lay undisturbed underneath! Complete with brass stand, twisted brass pole & vintage auction placard with printed provenance.
